Phil Kenny is a Senior Accredited Counsellor with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), offering counselling sessions based from his practice in South London. In his own words, he describes his experience as a practitioner – as well as the vision and values he holds dear.
It has been a special privilege to have had a career in the mental health profession for many years. This has included working in various NHS settings, the private sector (Nightingale and Priory Hospitals London) and the following charites: Everyman, Firefighters Charity, Maytree, Mind and Survivors UK. I have also worked in education (Barnet and Hendon Colleges) and the Prison Service (Holloway and Pentonville). This varied employment pathway has enabled me to work with hundreds of people throughout the UK; those who have presented with a vast spectrum of emotional pain and distress.
I am now transferring from the charity and statutory services and makeing available my wide therapy experience and track record, in a private capacity, to help you address personal issues that are leaving you feeling drained and defeated. With professionalism and respect, I offer a straight forward, matter-of-fact and direct style – one that is relevant to exploring the life concerns you are struggling with. I will listen to you in an approachable, empathic manner. You will be treated with concern, dignity and value.
