I’m an experienced qualified therapist. I am fully insured and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling which is complemented by a BA (Hons) Degree in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling. Being an integrative counsellor means I combine various approaches to tailor my way of working to best support your individual needs.
I specialise in working with individuals who may find themselves negotiating their way through anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, domestic abuse, self-harm. Equally, I work with survivors of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), sexual trauma, sexual violence, and childhood sexual abuse.
As a member of the BACP, I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions. As such I attend continued professional development training seminars on a regular basis.
As well as my general counselling practice, I work with survivors of sexual trauma, sexual violence, rape, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) at the Rape And Sexual Advice Support Centre (RASASC) in Guildford.

We are all human beings doing our best to navigating our individual worlds as best we can. Life may not be going according to our preconceived plan. This may cause stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, compulsions, addictions, repetitive relationship patterns all making life just too overwhelming to manage. Thoughts that no-one really understands the place you find yourself in. Struggling to communicate feelings, as it may not be easy to share with others, especially if there’s the fear of being judged, appearing vulnerable or burdening others with our worries and that’s why a lot of people turn to counselling.

Deciding to seek help in a counsellor can be a difficult and daunting one, yet it’s important to choose someone you feel comfortable with and able to trust.

My style is casual and conversational. I provide a warm, non-judgmental, and comfortable atmosphere, in which you can feel safe examining and talking about all aspects of yourself and your life. Together, we will work to identify your unique goals and the best path for you to achieve those goals.

I am compassionate to your difficulties offering you a non-judgemental space, where there’s confidentiality and where there’s a therapeutic relationship which means being truly listened to. My primary goal in our therapeutic relationship is to empower you to find your own way through challenging times, as I believe you are the expert of you.

I offer a place to explore these difficult times, whether that’s looking at underlying issues contributing to behaviours or finding ways to cope and move forward. It may be to explore strategies to cope with those overwhelming feelings going on for you at this time. I offer a safe place of being heard and valued.

I charge £50 per session and a counselling session is 50 minutes.
I accept bank transfer a day before our session or cash/card on the day of the session.

If you are considering counselling please feel free to call me for an informal and confidential chat.
If I am unable to answer, please leave a message and I will endeavour to get back to you within 24hours.
Alternatively, you may prefer to email me at; samanthahilltherapy@gmail.com
